Global Talent visa is a point-based visa, created for foreign individuals who are recognised as highly-skilled in their sector or coming from a particularly creative and innovative, culturally important and/or commercially promising sector. To qualify for a Global Talent visa, applicants must receive an endorsement from a respected, independent expert body as well as potentially also from a government department. This endorsement must demonstrate that, with their talent and skills, the applicant is a leader or emerging leader in their sector.

The UK government regulates this visa under the Points Based System. This is the same system that regulates all economic visas for the UK. The application for the Global Talent visa will require proving the endorsement and expertise of important professional bodies, other arrangements and appropriate documents.

Applicants must demonstrate that they plan to settle in the UK and that they are of good character. Applicants can apply for a Global Talent visa while they are in the UK if they are legally allowed to do so; otherwise, they can apply when they are outside the UK.
