For a UK Spouse Visa you must first apply for a marriage visa.

To start the application process, you will need the following documents:

1. Passport
2. Passport sized photo
3. Proof of relationship to the sponsor (marriage certificate, birth certificate, death certificate, etc.)
4. Evidence of sponsor’s citizenship (e.g. passport or national identity card)
5. Residence permit of the sponsor (if not a British citizen)
6. Proof of identity of the sponsor
7. Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, etc.)
8. Proof of income (last 6 months' payslips)
9. Proof of employment (employment contract or most recent tax statement)
10. Bank statements of the sponsor for last 6 months
11. Medical report for the sponsor
12. Signed declaration pledging to financially support the applicant and provide accommodation in the UK
13. Proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL certificate or results from a recognized English language school)
14. Letter of invitation from the host
